- Easy with only a few chords
- Make sure you can get the lyrics
- Remember you can only think of one thing at a time
- Master the chord changes
- Automation
- If you are slow with your chord changing and having to think about them a lot it’s too early
- Simplify rhythm
- Use a metronome
- Get in time & stay in time
- Memorize the lyrics
- Do an internet search for your song followed by lyrics and print off
- Sing along to the song without playing the guitar
- Lyrics & melody
- Match the words to the chords
- Know on which syllable the chord changes
- Write the chord above the lyrics
- Start slow
- Build up the rhythm
- Now its time to add the finishing touches
